FAQ
For most faucets, it’s probably less expensive to replace the faucet especially if it’s more than eight years old. Faucets last about 10 years but can start deteriorating earlier. If you have a high-end faucet such as Kohler or Hansgrohe sink faucet, it may be cheaper to repair the faucet depending on the problem. Many high-quality faucets come with a lifetime guarantee so you can obtain parts from the manufacturer.
If you have questions about repairing or replacing your leaky faucet, Plumber Duck Inc can help provide expert advice. Call us today!
The water from both the kitchen sink and dishwasher flows into the same drainage line. A blockage in the main drainage line causes water to overflow into your kitchen sink.
Kitchen sink clogs typically occur in the air gap, dishwasher, garbage disposal or sink—all of which can cause your sink to fill with water when the dishwasher runs.
To find out why your dishwasher is backing up into the sink, call the plumbing experts at Plumbing Duck Inc. We will identify the underlying issue and fix the problem fast.
Here are some items you should never put down your garbage disposal if you want to keep it running smoothly and your drains clog-free.
- Bones
- Fibrous vegetables such as celery, rhubarb, and asparagus
- Coffee grounds
- Eggshells
- Fruit pits
- Grease
- Potato peels
- Pasta
- Nuts
- Paint
- Cleaning chemicals
If your garbage disposal stops working, Plumbing Duck Inc can fix it in no time. Call us today!
Hardness is a measure of the magnesium, calcium, and carbonate minerals in the water. Water is considered soft if its hardness is less than 75 parts per million (ppm), moderately hard at 75 to 150 ppm, hard between 150 and 300 ppm, and very hard at 300 ppm or higher. According to the latest water quality reports for the Antelope Valley, the water is considered moderately hard. Hard water is generally not a health concern but can have an impact on how well soap lathers. Some people with hard water opt to buy a water softener for aesthetic reasons but softener can add salt to the water.
- To stop the water, remove the lid to your toilet tank and push the flapper down inside the tank to stop the water from exiting the tank and entering the bowl. As a last resort, turn off the water valve at the base of the toilet.
- Use a plunger to try to remove the blockage. Fit the cup of the plunger tightly over the drain hole in the bottom of the bowl and start plunging until the blockage is removed.
- If you still can’t remove the toilet clog, call Plumber Duck Inc. A toilet overflowing can be a sign of a larger plumbing issue
Corrosion is the deterioration of a substance or its properties due to a reaction with its environment. In plumbing systems, corrosion is due to physical and chemical reactions between the pipe material and water. There are several common underlying causes of pipe corrosion.
- Low pH level (water acidity)
- Water oxygen levels degrade metal into rust
- Minerals and chemicals in the water can build up inside the pipes
- Hot water corrodes pipes more quickly than cold water does
- Plumbing system structure with too many elbows and turns
- Water pressure and water velocity are too high
If you haven’t had your plumbing system inspected recently, call Plumber Duck Inc today!
